What to do?
We talked about the causes and consequences of the withdrawal syndrome of the distance format of education, now we turn to the final part: "What to do?"
☝️ Exactly, as in other types of withdrawal syndrome, the main thing is to know your enemy in face. All that is known can be described, and, therefore, corrected.
❗ Problem zone # 1. Physical malaise.
You may have noticed that as soon as the exams begins, the student begins to get sick.
It can be anything: dizziness, headache, nausea, heart problems and tightness in the chest, abdominal pain. The psychosomatics that will allow to stay at home or postpone exam or test.
❗ Problem zone # 2. Mental malaise.
Symptoms: anxiety, fatigue, irritability to keep up with him, sleep problems, memory impairment, inability to concentrate, aggression towards parents.
❗ Problem zone # 3. Confusion.
The body needs to show that it will have to work hard again. But! This march roll is fixed in time and volume. Write down what exactly needs to be acquired at a certain point in time and adhere to this plan. Do not spray, so as not to burden the current plan.
It is important not to miss these first signals. Their ignoring, cheating on laziness - will only increase the symptoms. Physical malaise can go into the chronic phase, mental - to increase the intensity of attacks. In such cases, a doctor’s consultation is mandatory, in which it should be indicated that the child goes through a period of transformation, which creates an additional burden both on physics and the psyche.
What helps to survive this period:
1️⃣ Unconditional support for your child.
If there is a conflict between the parents in the family, you will have to agree on this time. You are a support for him, not a weak dam of unresolved emotional problems.
2️⃣ Organized recovery environment:
- Change the white fluorescent light to yellow;
- Silence in the house (and not 3 simultaneously working TVs in the kitchen, in the hall and bedroom). An exception is good music that a child likes. And it is not for all the classics, for some characters it can be something heavier.
- Sleep in a dark (blackout curtains), cool (20-22 degrees) and humidified (humidifier or air wash machine) room.
3️⃣ More fluids and vitamins.
Arrange water bottles everywhere, especially in relaxation areas.
4️⃣ Switch.
If you notice any of the symptoms, switch the child’s focus to a distant dialogue or something.
Not a sermon, please!
5️⃣ Motor activity.
Serotonin, endorphins and BDNF are our everything.
6️⃣ Fresh air, bath.
It's all about breathing, read about the benefits of pranayama and sweating.
7️⃣ Conditional relationships.
Remember why the child is waiting for September 1? Because he will come to school with stories about experiences in the summer, he will have new school supplies, clothes, a hairstyle. So use at least a modicum of change, according to your abilities, to awaken this feeling in the child again.
8️⃣ The most difficult point: the ability to listen.
Do not get inquiries “tell me what you feel and what you think about”, but catch the moment when the child wants to share something with you and not miss this spark by your employment. You know, for a child to be happy, it is enough only 20 minutes a day to be alone with him, focusing only on him, listening to what he is talking about. Do not blame, do not overload with advice, and even more so do not blame for moments of weakness. Just listen. And it’s better to hear, but this is more complicated.
9️⃣ Weekends.
They should be. Donate Saturday cleaning in favor of lying in bed, eating your favorite meal, watching movies and taking a walk.
10. Love
Allow your child to spend maximum time in contact with people who love him and (or) whom he loves.
10 easy steps. Compliance with such simple measures will allow the body to cope on its own, without the use of medicine. Focus on your child. Not on the education standards, the son (daughter) of the best friend, your expectations. Only on your child. It's all!
